CUTZ

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

CUTZ makes a song into a music video on your device. This policy explains what the app and the website collect — which is, on purpose, almost nothing.

Everything stays on your device

Songs, recorded clips, drafts, thumbnails, and exported videos are stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) and are processed entirely on your device. CUTZ has no servers that receive your media from the iOS app, and no account system.

Camera

The app uses your camera to record clips, only while a recording screen is open. Recordings are video-only: CUTZ never asks for your microphone. Camera frames never leave your device.

Purchases

PRO subscriptions in the iOS app are billed by Apple through App Store in-app purchase. Apple handles the payment and its privacy policy applies to billing data; CUTZ only reads the subscription state Apple exposes on the device to unlock the perks. On the web, subscriptions are billed through Stripe Checkout; CUTZ receives an anonymous payment status, never your card details.

Website analytics and development logs

The cutz website (cutz.cr4tes.lol/cutz) sends basic, anonymous usage events — a random id stored in your browser, the event name, and nothing about you — to a private counter. On the web version, an exported video or an imported song may additionally be attached to a private development log so the developer can see what the app produced. The iOS app makes no such requests: nothing leaves the device.

Filter models

The face and segmentation filter looks download their open-source model and WASM files from public CDNs (jsDelivr and Google Cloud Storage) the first time you use them — like any web request, this reveals your IP address to those CDNs. On iOS the files are cached on-device afterwards.

Local storage

CUTZ keeps its settings, ids, and your drafts in browser storage. Clearing site data (or uninstalling the app) deletes them. The Backup drafts feature writes a file you keep yourself; it is uploaded nowhere.

Links out

The community link opens Discord (discord.gg), whose own privacy policy applies there. The share sheet hands an exported video to apps you choose.

No ads, no tracking, no selling

CUTZ shows no ads, includes no third-party trackers, and never sells data.
